DO NOT STAY HERE!

Well, the hotel went into bankruptcy this week and was sold at auction on Monday, December 9, 2019. As for my contact with WYNDHAM CORPORATE, I would have been better off wiping my butt on the letter-their statement to me was "Sorry, YOU have to deal with the OWNER because we do not control them".

I asked WHO the owner was and they told me they could not give me that info and I had to call the hotel and ask for him. WHO?? He is in hiding from all the creditors that are after him for money. As for my money, my bank has returned HALF of the money to my account.

I called the bank today and asked about the OTHER HALF of the money and the bank charges. I was told they are still working on the other half. But, they did return HALF of the bank fees. Guess I will just have to wait and see what happens next.

Still hoping for a full recovery! Wish me luck!

Original review Nov 09, 2019
On Sunday, October 20th, 2019. my wife, Son and I checked into the Days Inn in Bakersfield for a week with two rooms. We booked this reservation online for a business trip/family vacation. We booked what we thought was two rooms with a refrigerator and a microwave for both rooms. When we checked in, there was an ARMED security guard at the front desk and we chatted about our stay. He seemed pleasant enough, but he was a little too demanding when we ask questions. He would answer them when we asked the desk person. When we got to our room, my wife was shocked wit the condition of our room. The floor was wet and sticky from someone spilling a drink (?) on the floor and it was very wet. The microwave was filthy with cooked on splatter on the inside. Most of the lamps did not work either. Very dismal to say the least and NOT what we were led to believe we paid for. Our son's room was even worse. He had no refrigerator or microwave and he needs the refrigerator for medicine. I went to the desk clerk and asked to have his room changed and they did, but the new room did not have a microwave or refrigerator either. The clerk said they would get them the next day. When my son went out to smoke later, he was approached by what he thought was a homeless person begging and making demands for money from my son. My son refused his request and when the security guard saw this he told the guy that my wife and I were staying in the room next to his. My son heard this conversation and could not understand why the guard told the guy this information. The guy left mad at my son and went to his room next to ours. Unaware of this conversation with our son, at 12:53am, my wife and I were in our room asleep and someone starting pounding on our window and walls very loudly. Startled and scared for our lives, we called the front desk 5 different times and got no answer either time. I tried the outside phone number and no answer. I looked the hotel up online and called a 3rd different number and no answer. Terrifies from the continuous pounding and fearing for our lives, I called the Bakersfield Police 911 number. The officer kept me on the line till the patrol officers arrived. They came to our room and I explained what had happened. They checked outside and found nothing. They said the guard was out checking our window and he found nothing so they left. My son came to our room to see what had happened. The guard came to our room and accused me of filing a false police report because "it never happened" and he said he was on the other side of the wall and never heard anything. He then informed me that I had two choices-go back to sleep "cause it never happened" or I could leave. Needless to say, we left immediately. I tried to check out about 15 minutes later and the new night clerk said she could NOT check me out till after 3am. It was only about 1:30am then I asked for something showing our leaving and the guard told her not to give us anything because I had lied to the police and he got between me and the clerk and placed his hand on the pistol. During the time the police were there, he DID NOT HAVE THE PISTOL ON HIS SIDE. Feeling threatened, I decided to just leave because he was very threatening and I did not trust him and feared for the safety of myself, my wife and our son. We found other lodging within an hour and secured those rooms for our trip. The next day, the Days Inn charged my business card for the full amount for both rooms. The next day, there were more charges added, and some dropped. This in effect, took money from my business account and tied it up to where I could not get access to my money to conduct my business in Bakersfield. During the next 10 days, the hotel kept changing the dollar amounts from my account and kept adding new charges. At one time, there was over $1,300.00 charges and I could not file a claim with the bank because the charges were in the "processing" stage. Once Days In submitted the final bill, then Bank of America could refund what was taken out illegally from my account. My bank found in their preliminary investigation, there were bogus charges on my account and "blocked" any further charges from the hotel, cancelled the card and reissued another card to me. But, the hotel STILL submitted charges AFTER the card was cancelled and they received about $820.00 from my account! They managed to steal this money from my business, scared my 67 year old wife, who has a bad heart, and myself half to death with the crazy guy next door pounding on our window and walls at 1 am in the morning! I have since found out that this hotel is in bankruptcy and the guard and the night female clerk are allowing anyone to stay there if they pay in CASH. You can imagine where the money is going. I have also heard they are doing the same thing charging other unknowing guest to have bogus charges placed on their cards too. As information, I have spent 2 nights per week for over 2 years at this hotel when I worked for Amtrak Railroad. This was our Corporate Lodging hotel and I had never had a problem there until now. They lost the Amtrak contract and they lost a lot of business. This hotel is infested with drug addicts, crazy, mentally ill people, *** and many homeless people. Not what Wyndham Corporate should allow with their name associated to this dump. This guard is I charge with his threatening, intimidating behavior. If needed, I can request a copy of the Bakersfield Police Report and the hotel receipt from the hotel we stayed during the week to prove we stayed elsewhere during the time period Days Inn charged me for. I am a Wyndham Rewards member and have stayed at many of the hotel brands associated with Wyndham brand. I have NEVER experienced this type of behavior at any of the hotels I have stayed at during my 42+ years on the railroad or the 20+ years traveling for my business. I would like for the Wyndham Corporation to return the bogus charges to me immediately. I would like to ask the Wyndham Corporation to investigate this Days Inn hotel and replace the rogue guard and the female accomplice for their part in this theft of money. Until I hear from the Wyndham Corporation regarding this matter and the return of the money, along with the $70.00 overdraft fees incurred as a result of this theft of my money, I will wait before turning this matter over to the Bakersfield Better Business Bureau and to my Attorney for further actions. Please contact me at 253-375-**** (Office) or on my Cell at 209-603-****. I will wait for 10 days from today to see how the Wyndham Corporation handles this claim before I proceed further. I will give you the first opportunity to correct this terrible action on a loyal Wyndham Customer. Thank you and I will be awaiting your contact. Rickey L. Carter 122* 180th St. Ct. You should be awarded $25,000.00 in punitive damages, plus refunded for the entire amount of money that they charged to your account, plus they should pay all of your attorney's fees.

Horrible stay

Days Inn located in Alexander City Alabama is possibly the worst motel you could stay at. Rooms are dirty upon entering for a fresh new stay and it is not family friendly nor do they clean your rooms for made service if youre staying there for multiple days.

With the outbreak of the Coronavirus, who in their right mind would stay at a low class place such as the Days Inn. Everyone knows that they are only a couple of notches better than a motel 6. Not a very clean option.

Complaint about mgr janice @ your poughkeepsie ny hotel

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Stayed at your location for 3 Days on the 4th night there was an issue that transpired with your head manager at the Poughkeepsie NY location. Named Janice Reyes. She was very rude disrespectful and vulgar. During my three stays the police have been called two separate times to your location with a room of heroin users. Which on my fourth night Janice had placed me in. That same. Room after telling her that I was uncomfortable she. Then said oh well that was the only room she had available even though she had a line of customers behind me also getting rooms. After getting into the room and Lysol in it from top to bottom for my own comfortability she continuously kept calling my room but then I answered and she was requesting me to go to the check-in desk. At that time she was very nasty rude and continuously trying to start an argument speaking about not wanting people like me and her facility. Not sure exactly what she meant by that but it definitely felt like a racist slander to somebody that was another color other than herself. At that time I gave her keys to the room back and told her I no longer felt the need to stay in her facility because of the way she was acting so unprofessionally I would rather bring my money and stay elsewhere. Even as I was trying to leave she's continued to rant rude disrepectful Commentsfor what i dont know i never met the women befor stayin In your hotel. For her to act that was completely unacceptable esp to treat a paying customer In such a TERRIBLE manner she should be fired. No wonder the facility is so run down an trashy the person at the front desk shows the type of bussiness being ran there! I have been a Wyndham customer for years and I only travel with your company and that was definitely the worst experience I've ever had in any one of your hotels across the United States. Very upset and bothered by this whole situation and would like to know as soon as it's properly addressed

Gave my One Hundred Dollar Deposit away!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I rented a room on 04/25/2020, had bed bugs, so I let office know about that issue, they asked me to leave, a friend of my son's was with me and somehow got my deposit, so I went back to office to rent another room, they tried to give me the same room, I refused the room, so they put me in another room, which my I.D. was what was on file, stayed 04/26/2020, running late asked for a late checkout, I ran my errand came back to checkout, only to find out some guy I have no idea who he is, received MY DEPOSIT of 100.00 dollars!! After going rounds with the desk clerk, he viewed the tape, and said the guy was coming out of my room, granted he was with my son, but that doesn't mean that he is entitled to get my money given to him, because the dude on the I'D they excepted is not my son's friend!! And I think it is against the law to refund money to anyone that did NOT rent the room!! Also, don't they all have a lost & found, they are supposed to keep belongings found in the rooms for Thirty Days? Well this *** hole stole my Two Hundred Dollar speaker along with all this other *** so i would really like to get these issues resolved A.S.A.P.!!

I am an essential worker, and was deceived during the time of reservation. I booked throught a third party and when calling the property, they were very rude and unprofessional as well as denying me a refund for the room booked. Complaint /change room

I asked to be put in a new queen bed room when renewing my stay for another week, I been staying in the same room for 3 weeks. My request was declined, so I asked to speak to a corporate manager. That lady gave me her phone number at the front desk. I asked other managers on staff during the week if i renew my room if i can be put in a new room and they said yes. This manager had horrible customer service and escalated the situation when i asked to speak to a corporate manager. I will not stay at a days inn again, after staying for 5 weeks I am throughly disappointed with this one staff member who did not provide any accomodation.

Problems with my stay

S me and my kids. Well I had enough points to get a free room. And I was never told that I needed 100 for a deposit. The hotel didn't give a damn so I was left 108 degrees that day with 4 bags of my belongings sitting outside the owner would even get on the phone or talk to me.

Bedbugs & Fleas

On March 30, I stayed at Days Inn a Wyndham hotel in Spartensburg, SC & I was bitten by bedbugs & fleas. I suffered through the pain of sores on my body for 3 days & had to take medicines to cure. I asked for a full refund & a free night’s stay at any Days Inn. I was only given the full refund. I don’t think this is fair, because a customer shouldn’t have to be worried about bedbugs & fleas infestations in any hotel.

Stay far away

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We stayed at the days inn by wyndham in Orlando Florida for edc over the weekend. When we got in the room it was gross there are holes in the walls the bathroom door didn’t close or lock and there were roaches.

The tack strips in front of the front and bathroom doors were exposed. They had beds left in an outside hallway for over 24 hours. And it was right behind a prison. All of that was barely fine.

I took pictures and was just gonna write a review to warn future guests. Until the day of checkout. I’m a former housekeeper so when I stay in hotels I strip the beds so the maids have less to do. Well in my hotel, we don’t change the mattress protector unless there are stains.

There was so I was removing it and was horrified by the puddle of blood on the mattress. We left instantly. I called the front desk from the road and told them and said we would like a refund and the front desk woman was rude and refused to refund us. So I called customer service they said they will investigate and get back to us.

I also got an email from the general manager saying he would refund us for $16. Said if we had told him about the room first thing he would have refunded us and sold the room to someone else. A room with blood soaked bed.

Disgusting. No one should ever stay in this place and if we don’t receive refund we will be contacting our lawyer.

That blood could have been from someone who was infected with HIV or some other kind of transmittable disease. You probably should have called 911, someone could have been killed in that room.
